Understanding Tipton County Releases

Charges and bond fields describe the booking, not a finding of guilt. A photograph helps distinguish people with similar names, but it cannot prove the present location. When the local record uses a code or leaves the destination blank, ask Corrections to identify the public field or explain the code. The agency may produce the record, deny it with a legal basis, or state when production is reasonably possible.

Read the status literally. Parole or probation can show community supervision. Inactive is a former-status cue, but does not by itself give the reason supervision ended. Incarcerated means the person has not been released from state custody. FOIL does not cover every Tipton County misdemeanor or jail-only booking, so absence from FOIL cannot prove a county release.

The Sheriff's page lists Corrections at 901-475-3305 and shows the operation as open every day. That contact availability does not prove release processing happens on a fixed schedule. It also does not support claims about feed lag because no feed exists. A 72-hour interval can cover a weekend, but the request should state both endpoints in Central Time.

Tipton Post-Release Supervision
The Tennessee Board of Parole decides whether an eligible state prisoner receives parole. TDOC then supervises parolees and felony probationers. A sentencing court orders probation. FOIL is the public individual lookup that may show parole, probation, or inactive status, while the sentencing order and supervising office provide the case context.
Tipton County lies in TDOC District 60. The Covington field office is at 105 Mueller Brass Road, Suite D, and its phone is 731-341-6060. General Sessions Probation is a separate local misdemeanor operation reached at 901-475-3319. These offices should not be merged. A state felony supervision record and a local court probation case follow different authority even when both concern a Tipton County resident.
A Board grant is not physical release. An approved plan and pre-parole conditions can remain outstanding, and a grant can be rescinded. Verify the Board action, read the FOIL custody status and date, and seek TDOC confirmation when the display is unclear.

Delta Human Resource Agency operates weekday public transportation in Tipton County from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., excluding listed holidays. It asks for reservations three days ahead for in-county travel and five days ahead for trips outside the county.
Nothing in the reviewed source says Delta HRA picks up at the Tipton County Jail or accepts a same-day discharge ride. Family waiting areas, property return, release exits, and pickup timing are also not published by the Sheriff. The research did not establish Tipton participation through a static government list. A no-match may reflect spelling, transfer, agency participation, delay, or record removal, not a release.
For a federal sentence, use the BOP Inmate Locator. It can show a release date and “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody,” but BOP warns that another correctional authority or supervision may follow. USMS has no comparable public released-person locator. Federal pretrial release belongs in the federal court docket and release order; historical USMS records may require FOIA.
Tennessee registries serve narrow statutory groups. Registry presence can persist after custody, while absence says nothing about release. They are not substitutes for a Tipton jail record, TDOC status, or court disposition.
ICE Holds After Tipton Release
Tipton County contains the active West Tennessee Detention Facility in Mason. A person leaving Tipton County Jail on an ICE hold has changed custodians, not returned to the community. An ICE locator disappearance can mean transfer, release under immigration authority, or removal. Formatting, spelling, data lag, and the locator's rules also affect results. Ask the local jail record for the receiving agency, then let ICE sources describe the next event. The Tipton Sheriff is not the custodian of a CoreCivic or ICE detention record.
Tipton Facility Lists Changed
The West Tennessee Detention Facility contract announcement describes a 600-bed Mason and ICE agreement after the site had been idle since September 2021. Reporting on the reopening confirms detainees began arriving in September 2025. The stated agreement runs through August 2030 unless extended.
That recent change makes old Tipton facility lists risky. Northwest Correctional Complex is in Tiptonville, which is in Lake County, and West Tennessee State Penitentiary is in Lauderdale County. Neither is a Tipton County facility. Confirm the exact institution name before choosing a jail, TDOC, BOP, or ICE release path.
Where Tipton Release Records Remain
Every system proves only its own custody event. Choose the row that matches the last confirmed custodian, then reconcile a transfer with the next agency.

Why did a name disappear? A live roster is designed for people still held by that agency. Once the booking closes, use the release record and case file. When no result appears in VINE or ICE, contact the originating agency because lack of a match is not itself a release event.
Tipton County Release Facilities
Tipton County Jail / Justice Center is the Sheriff's county detention operation. Its outcomes include community release by bond, order, time served, or completion, as well as transfer to another custodian. Corrections, the county release record, and the local court provide the confirmation chain.
West Tennessee Detention Facility is a CoreCivic facility serving ICE under the Mason agreement. Its outcomes can include an immigration release, transfer, or removal. ICE ODLS, DRIL, facility contacts, and immigration-case documents apply. A Sheriff search cannot resolve that status.
No TDOC prison is located in Tipton County. Municipal police agencies make arrests, but the research found no separate long-term municipal jail that should be treated as a released-inmate archive. The destination named in the booking record determines which system to check next.
